BabyCenter is one of my favorite sites! And it's free! I've been a member since I was pregnant with our first child, who was lost in a miscarriage. Just go to their search engine to find what you're looking for related to health and safety, or go onto one of their bulletin boards and talk to others about the same thing!
Dr. Sears is one of my favorites, and usually the first, place I go if I have a child-related health question.
HealthNotes is THE number one site in my opinion for information concerning drug interactions, herbal remedies and interactions and much, much more!
A-Z Health Center has lots of information.
Merck is a trusted source
WebMD is user-friendly
Ear, Nose and Throat questions? Kids having lots of ear infections?
Check the safety of medication in pregnancy and breastfeeding at Safe Fetus.
Poison Control contact information.
National Capital Poison Center 1-800-222-1222 CALL IF YOU THINK POISONING HAS OCCURRED. DON'T WAIT!
Product Recalls can be found at American Baby.
Going into surgery? This place will show you if you're taking stuff that can interfere.
DermaDoctor has some good information on skin conditions, including those caused by viruses like chickenpox and warts. This is a link to articles, but go to "The Doctor is In" for a search feature.
Women's health topics can be found here: OBGYN Forum
Saving Babies is an awareness website started by a friend and I about a more-common-than-doctors-will-admit problem of low progesterone. Check our links page for a variety of resources.
Recurrent Miscarriages is a good resource for searching for just about any type of problem that can cause miscarriages.
Car Seats
In my opinion, from the research I did when it came time for our daughter to graduate from her infant car seat that came with the Graco travel system and the reviews I read from other parents, the Britax brand is the way to go. (We bought ours from
BabyUniverse.com) Here are some resources to help you make a decision:

Great baby and child safety products can be found at the stores below if you can't find them at Target, Walmart or BabiesRUs. Sometimes you can get better deals with coupon codes (see my shopping page) at the stores below:
BabyUniverse.com is a great store, and the best in my opinion to buy the Britax line of carseats (also the best, in my opinion, once baby has graduated from the infant carseat/carrier) -- they usually have some kind of sale on them, free shipping and a great selection.
BabyAge is another wonderful site with a great selection of products, and great all-around shipping prices.
One Step Ahead is definitely one of my favorites! They have so many neat items, especially for safety, and I've had good experience with returns.
